The Indianapolis R/C Modelers was founded in 1953 for the sole purpose of supporting and advancing the hobby of Radio Control Aircraft building and flying.
For the past several years, we have enjoyed our present location at the Blue River Air Park, which is located a mile west of Morristown, Indiana on Blue River Road, 1/2 mile south of the intersection of US Route #52 and Blue River Road. Click the "MAP" link at left, to see a map with directions to the field. Our runway measures 650' by 125' (north/south) and members and visitors enjoy a large pit area, a picnic area, and plenty of parking. Flying hours are Monday to Saturday 8am to dusk, and Sunday, Noon to dusk.
The Indianapolis R/C Modelers is a club dedicated to keeping the FUN in R/C flying. We have a very active program to help the beginner learn to fly in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We have several instructors in the club, and have set aside Monday and Wednesday nights to give priority to student flyers. We also have a program that helps members develop their skills in advanced aerobatics.
Our members fly aircraft of all types. You will see everything from the basic trainer with 36" wingspans, to sport aircraft, warbirds which are scale models of World War I and World War II aircraft, even the large giant scale aircraft with wingspans of 10 feet or more!
Our club has monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month (7pm) at the New Palestine United Church, 15 E. Main Street (US route 52), New Palestine, Indiana.
